Welcome to All the Things! All the Things is intended to be a lifestyle and design, well, all the things that went into a project (including sources!), trends that I’m seeing, things happening around Denver, and basically just anything lifestyle related that inspire or excite me.
With that, I’d like to share my first project reveal on the new blog! Today were going to talk about the Auraria Parkway kitchen loft project. When designing a kitchen, function is priority number one. One of the biggest problems with the original kitchen in the Auraria Parkway kitchen, was the layout. There was tons of wasted space. It was a challenging layout with a diagonal island and walls, an unfortunately located window that provided significant light to the space and low quality builder grade short cabinets (not taking full advantage of the 14’ ceilings.
Existing copper pendants paired beautifully with the exposed brick wall, while the custom barn doors and chalkboard door hide the laundry area and furnace. Durable concrete inspired quartz countertops finish out the space.
Like any project, the process was not without it’s challenges. From the beginning of the project we communicated very closely with the HOA and board and even then, challenges arose. However, my homeowners keep a calm and cool head while my team of subs and I navigated the approval process. The end result has our clients cooking and entertaining in style with more storage than they know what to do with!
I hope you enjoyed our first project reveal on the new blog! Please leave a comment or questions below.
